CCTV News: On April 29, a spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines answered reporters' questions about the Taiwan issue of the Philippine Navy spokesperson.
Q: According to reports, Philippine Navy spokesman Trinidad said that the Philippine military and Taiwan are discussing "international cooperation", which is only one step away from the joint drill. What is China’s response to this?
A: Taiwan is a province in China and an inalienable part of China's territory. The Taiwan issue is the core of China's core interests. The one-China principle is a general consensus in the international community and the political basis of China-Philippines relations. China firmly opposes any form of official exchanges between countries establishing diplomatic relations and Taiwan. We urge the Philippines to abide by the one-China principle, stop any form of official exchanges with the Taiwan authorities, and stop sending false signals to the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces. We advise relevant Philippine people not to provoke on the Taiwan issue, and those who play with fire will burn themselves.
