CCTV News: According to the WeChat official account of Shishuo Xinyu, on April 28, under the guidance of the State Administration for Market Regulation, the China Food Industry Association led more than 200 large food companies to hold an initiative to optimize food labels and labels. The event aims to jointly respond to the requirements of the new regulations, actively optimize food labeling, strengthen industry self-discipline, provide consumers with safer, more secure and high-quality food, and promote high-quality development of the food industry.
The participating companies said that they will actively optimize label design so that the food date will be clear at a glance; standardize the food name and do not use terms such as "zero addition"; make scientific and rigorous claims to fully protect minors; fully label nutrition information to guide reasonable diets; strengthen label review to ensure food is listed in compliance; fully publish food information to make online shopping more secure; avoid excessive packaging, and make food labels less carbon-friendly.
In March this year, the "Measures for Supervision and Administration of Food Labeling" (State Administration of Market Regulation Order No. 100) and the "National Food Safety Standards and General Rules for Pre-packaged Food Labeling" (GB 7718-2025) have been issued, and relevant regulations give enterprises a two-year transition period.
