At the meeting, Chengdu Mayor Wang Fengchao introduced that in the preparations for the Chengdu World Games, he always adhered to the "simple, safe and exciting" game hosting concept and implemented the requirements of frugality in every detail.
In terms of venue construction, we insist on "reforming but not building", and all 27 competition venues were renovated or temporarily built. During the transformation process, we coordinate the needs of the event and the use of post-match, and all use green and environmentally friendly building materials and recyclable materials, adopt prefabricated and standardized construction models to achieve standard parts production and intensive installation. At the same time, in combination with teaching arrangements and operation activities, the "one museum, one policy" reasonably arranges the construction time of venues to shorten the time spent on camping venues as much as possible. After the World Games, all venues will coordinate research and use, open to the public in an orderly manner, and play a greater role in professional training, hosting events and the development of mass sports, especially to provide citizens with more choices and services to participate in non-Australia projects and emerging projects.
In terms of equipment and facilities, on the premise of meeting the competition requirements, we insist on "borrowing but not renting, and renting but not buying", and adopt a combination of rental (old profits) and procurement to minimize the cost of equipment purchase. At present, all competition equipment for 34 major events and 60 sub-items have been configured. After the competition, all purchased competition equipment will be used in competitive project training, youth talent training, national fitness development and professional event preparation, etc., to serve and promote the development of sports.
In terms of activity organization, we will optimize the torch relay route and reasonably set the number of torch relays, which will not only fully demonstrate Chinese characteristics, Bashu charm, and Chengdu charm, but also promote sports culture and sports style. Streamline the duration of the opening and closing ceremonies, optimize the process of the event ceremony, comprehensively adopt special transportation capacity and other guarantee measures, refine the traffic guarantee for those participating in the event, and minimize the impact on the lives of citizens while ensuring safety and order.
