Meteorological forecast shows that Typhoon "Boroi" will pass through the southern coast of Hainan Island at a typhoon level (35-40 meters/second, 12-13) during the day on the 28th, about 100 kilometers away from Hainan Island.
Sanya Meteorological Observatory changed the typhoon warning signal to yellow at 16:04 on the 27th. As Typhoon "Boroi" gradually approaches Sanya City, within the next 24 hours, the average wind force in the coastal areas of Sanya City will gradually increase to level 8-9, gusts of 10-11, and the average wind force in the inland areas will gradually increase to level 6-7, gusts of 8-9, and may be accompanied by strong thunder and lightning.
At 20:31 on the 27th, the Sanya Meteorological Observatory issued a red warning signal for heavy rain: Affected by "Boroi", the rainfall in Sanya City will reach 150-250 mm and local 300-350 mm in the next 24 hours. Relevant units and personnel are requested to do a good job in prevention, and schools at all levels and types will be suspended.
Sanya City Disaster Prevention, Reduction, Relief and Safety Commission upgraded the emergency response to flood prevention and wind prevention to Level II at 21:00 on the same day.
