On March 24, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian hosted a regular press conference. A reporter asked that Taiwan said it would miss the WTO ministerial meeting in Cameroon for the first time because Cameroon described it as "Taiwan Province."

Lin Jian said that there is only one China in the world, and Taiwan is an inalienable part of China’s territory. On the issue of China's Taiwan region's participation in international organization activities, China's position has always been clear, that is, it must be handled in accordance with the one-China principle. The one-China principle is the political prerequisite for Taiwan's participation in the WTO. The DPP authorities used the issue of participation in the conference to engage in political manipulation, which was extremely despicable. Its attempt to seek "independence" and provoke others is doomed to failure and will only bring humiliation to itself.

The current international economic and trade order is facing severe challenges, unilateralism and protectionism are on the rise, and the multilateral trading system has been severely impacted. The WTO holds a ministerial conference in Africa again after 10 years, which is of special significance. China firmly supports Cameroon in successfully hosting this WTO Ministerial Conference.
