The two sides exchanged in-depth views on how to strengthen the inspection and monitoring of aquatic products and ensure quality and safety. China stressed that whether Japan's aquatic products can be restored should be based on China's continuous independent sampling and monitoring of a series of scientific data, and Japan should take practical measures to effectively ensure the quality and safety of aquatic products, and it must meet the requirements of Chinese laws and regulations. Japan expressed its great importance to the concerns of China and the Chinese people, and once again confirmed that it continued to carry out international monitoring of the sea and independent sampling monitoring of stakeholders, and will ensure that Japan's aquatic products sent to China comply with Chinese regulations. China's position on opposing Japan's unilateral launch of sea discharge has not changed. We will continue to work with the international community to urge Japan to earnestly fulfill its commitments and ensure that the Fukushima nuclear-polluted water discharge is always under strict international supervision. This is an effective measure to control the risk of sea discharge.
