CCTV News: According to the website of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange, foreign financial assets and liabilities and transaction statistics are important contents of my country's international balance of payments statistics system. In order to further improve the comprehensiveness, timeliness and accuracy of international balance of payments statistics and better meet the latest international standards requirements, the State Administration of Foreign Exchange recently revised and issued the "Statistical System for Foreign Financial Assets and Liabilities and Transactions" (hereinafter referred to as the "Statistical System").
This revision is the fourth routine revision since the official implementation of the Statistical System in October 2014. The main revisions include: First, subdivide the categories of non-financial institutions to improve the convenience of data submission. The second is to integrate trade credit survey statistics into foreign financial assets and liabilities and transaction statistics, and integrate data collection elements. The third is to adjust the statistical reports of international transportation and other surveys and statistics of international balance of payments. Fourth, optimize the data collection scope and element definition, and adjust some appendix code tables.
The revised "Statistical System" will come into effect on October 1, 2025, and the "Notice of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange on Issuing the "Statistical System for Foreign Financial Assets and Liabilities and Transactions" (Huifa [2021] No. 36) and the "Notice of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange on Issuing the "Statistical Survey System for Trade Credit" (Huifa [2021] No. 33) will be abolished at the same time.
In the next step, the State Administration of Foreign Exchange will continue to improve the convenience of data reporting by filing subjects, better guide all types of entities to conduct statistical declarations, promote the construction of a modern balance of payments statistical system, and provide better statistical guarantees for my country's high-quality economic development and high-level opening up.
