Xinhua News Agency, Hong Kong, April 10 (Xi Tianqi) The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government sent a rescue team to the earthquake-stricken areas of Myanmar to assist in the search and rescue work back to Hong Kong late at night on the 9th and successfully completed the rescue mission.
Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Chief Executive Li Jiachao, Permanent Secretary-General of the Security Bureau Li Baiquan, Deputy Secretary-General of the Security Bureau Zhuo Xiaoye, Acting Director of the Immigration Department Cheng Hemu, and Chief Executive of the Hospital Authority Gao Basheng welcomed the rescue team back to Hong Kong at Hong Kong International Airport.
Li Jiachao shook hands with the rescue team members one by one to thank them and said that with professional training, firm will and fearless courage, the rescue team members overcame many difficulties and compete with time, fully demonstrating their professional spirit of fearless challenges and emergency relief.
It is understood that there were 51 rescue teams in the SAR. They set off on the afternoon of March 29 to search and rescue in Mandalay, one of the hardest hit areas in Myanmar. The Special Zone Rescue Team has conducted a joint search with the national rescue team in recent days and successfully rescued a survivor. The Special Zone Rescue Team also excavated two bodies of the victims.
Zhao Rujue, deputy fire chief of the Fire Department of the SAR Government, said in an interview with the media on the spot that the rescue team successfully summoned the team members only 15 minutes before departure, and the SAR rescue team is one of the fastest teams to arrive in Myanmar.
