CCTV News: According to China Water Conservancy WeChat official account, on February 28, 2025, the South-to-North Water Diversion Project safely passed the 11th ice age water transfer stage since the full water supply. During this ice age water transfer, the East and the Middle Line Projects transferred 410 million cubic meters and 1.47 billion cubic meters respectively during the ice age period. Among them, the water transfer volume of the middle line project to Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei was 0.40 million cubic meters higher than the planned water transfer task, successfully completing the 2024-2025 ice age water transfer task.
In order to ensure the smooth operation of the water transfer phase of the ice age, the Ministry of Water Resources, together with the South-to-North Water Diversion Group, anchored the goal of "ensure the safety of water transfer projects, water supply safety, and water quality safety during the ice age, improve the operation and dispatching management capabilities, and improve the water transfer efficiency of the project during the ice age", deeply summarize and analyze the evolution laws of water transfer during the ice age since the water was opened, accelerate the iteration and upgrading of the digital twin mid-line water transfer business system, add ice and water situation monitoring and perception equipment, comprehensively strengthen the monitoring of water temperature, temperature, ice conditions and other indicators at key sections, pay close attention to weather trends and water temperature changes, dynamically adjust the water flow and flow rate, and take measures such as ice blocking, disturbing ice, discharge ice, and melting ice in advance to exceed the ice age water transfer plan, and further improve the water transfer capacity and efficiency.
