Vice Minister of Commerce Sheng Qiuping and Vice Governor of Hainan Province Gu Gang introduced the relevant situation of the 5th China International Consumer Products Expo and answered questions from reporters.

Li Gang, Director of the Market Operation and Consumption Promotion Department of the Ministry of Commerce, introduced that in 2024, the Ministry of Commerce, together with various localities and relevant departments, will deepen the exchange of old consumer goods, and more than 70 million (pieces) of green smart cars, home appliances, and home furnishing products have entered the lives of the people. As you said, the exchange of old-for-new consumer goods has promoted the upgrade of bulk durable consumer goods to green and intelligent. This year, on the basis of stepping up efforts to expand the implementation of consumer goods trade-in, we will focus on promoting the following four aspects:

First, actively promote the initial public offering economy. We will support high-quality domestic and foreign products and service brands to open their first stores and hold their first show, give full play to the role of key exhibitions, and continuously enrich the carriers of the first launch platform. In mid-March, we have launched the 2025 National Boutique First-Sales Season event in Shanghai, inviting domestic and foreign tourists to check in for the first store, watch the first exhibition, and enjoy the first show.

Second, develop digital consumption. We will deepen the digital consumption improvement action, guide local governments to launch pragmatic measures, and enrich the diversified supply of digital consumption. Relaying the National Online New Year Festival at the beginning of the year, we will continue to hold the Double Product Online Shopping Festival, Digital Businesses Promote Agriculture and Celebrate the Harvest, and Silk Road Cloud Product E-commerce Festival. Strengthen the cultivation of digital consumption innovation scenarios and encourage online and offline linkage consumption models. Carry out quality e-commerce cultivation actions to promote the improvement of digital consumption quality and structural optimization, and better meet consumers' personalized and diversified consumption needs.

Third, promote green consumption. Last weekend, we launched the 2025 National Electricity Consumption Season in Shanghai to amplify the effect of the old-for-new policy and release the consumption potential of green smart home appliances. During the Consumer Expo, we will hold a theme event for green consumption and recycling and development of renewable resources, release a list of pilot cities and pilot enterprises for the circulation of second-hand goods, carry out green consumption promotion in the field of trade, summarize and promote innovative cases, and guide new trends of green and low-carbon consumption.

Fourth, cultivate intelligent consumption. We will actively promote "artificial intelligence + consumption", increase the promotion of artificial intelligence products, promote the entry of artificial intelligence consumption terminals into thousands of households, and artificial intelligence commercial terminals into thousands of stores, and artificial intelligence technology empowers innovation in consumption scenarios.
