On the evening of April 15th local time, President Xi Jinping arrived in Kuala Lumpur by special plane and paid a state visit to Malaysia at the invitation of Malaysia's Supreme Head of State Ibrahim.
"If you see each other before you see each other, you can go there; if you don't forget each other for a long time, you can come." President Xi Jinping visited Malaysia again after 12 years and achieved "record cooperation results."
Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar and other senior officials went to the airport to welcome him warmly. Local youth performed special dances, and overseas Chinese performed festive and enthusiastic lion dances; a grand welcome ceremony was held in the National Palace Square - Malaysia welcomed President Xi Jinping’s visit with high standards and warm standards.
On April 16, President Xi Jinping met with Malaysia's Supreme Head of State Ibrahim and held talks with Prime Minister Anwar. President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Anwar jointly witnessed the exchange of more than 30 bilateral cooperation texts between China and Malaysia, covering many areas such as the three major global initiatives and cooperation, the "Confucian-Iranian Civilization Dialogue". The two sides issued a joint statement.
President Xi Jinping said that China looks forward to working with Malaysia to build a high-level strategic China-Malaysia community with a shared future, build a new "golden 50 years" for China-Malaysia relations, provide greater support for the two countries' respective modernization processes, set an example of unity and cooperation for the global and southern part, and make new and greater contributions to promoting peace, stability and prosperity in the region and even the world.
