CCTV News: The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the National Health Commission, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently issued the "Outline of China's Food and Nutrition Development (2025-2030)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Outline"). The Outline proposes to promote nutritional agricultural production, food processing and food consumption to form a more balanced and healthy dietary nutrition structure. The Outline proposes six key tasks, including increasing the supply and consumption of high-quality protein foods, promoting the supply and consumption of foods rich in dietary fiber, and accelerating the research and development and processing of nutritious foods. On the basis of ensuring the safety of my country's food supply quantity, we pay more attention to food quality and nutritional safety, and expand from grain to other major foods such as vegetables, fruits, poultry, meat, aquatic products, and dairy industries.

Wang Fengzhong, director of the Institute of Food and Nutrition Development of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, said that in the new development stage, modern food production is closely integrated with social needs and nutritional structure, and is moving towards a modern food goal chain where nutrition guides consumption and consumption drives production. People's requirements for food have developed into nutrition, deliciousness, health and convenience.

The Outline proposes to strengthen the nutrition improvement of residents in rural and remote areas, and strengthen the nutrition supply of special groups such as pregnant women, children, and the elderly. By 2030, the diversified food supply system will be more perfect, and the level of food quality, characteristic and branding will continue to improve. The food consumption structure has shifted to nutritional and healthy. "Satisfied with more personalized and diversified nutritional needs has become the development goal of future food. The wave of silver hair is coming, and food in the elderly has become a necessity; there is great potential for reducing the "three highs" healthy foods for a large number of chronic patients; the fundamental way out for future food innovation still depends on technology," said Wang Fengzhong.

How to eat healthier? The Outline draws the key points

What should you eat and how to eat to make it more nutritious and healthy? The Outline sets a key point for us.

The Outline proposes that in terms of food consumption, beans, meat, eggs, milk, aquatic products, vegetables, fruits and other foods are rich in high-quality protein and dietary fiber, and the per capita annual consumption has steadily increased.

In terms of food and nutrient intake, it is recommended that the per capita daily energy intake remains at about 2150 kcal for men and 1700 kcal for women; the daily intake of protein is sufficient, and the per capita daily intake of high-quality protein accounts for more than 50%; the per capita daily dietary fiber intake increases to 25-30 grams, the intake of edible oil is reduced to 25-30 grams, and the intake of salt and added sugar does not exceed 5 grams and 25 grams, respectively.

Wang Dongyang, a researcher at the Institute of Food and Nutrition Development of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, introduced that when buying food, you should carefully check the food label; in home cooking, you can use tools such as dosing salt spoons, oil pots and other tools. Relevant departments are also developing nutritional and healthy recipes and dining technology, implementing the construction of nutritional and healthy canteens, encouraging the construction of nutritional and healthy catering stores, encouraging the development of central kitchens, and promoting the application of smart storage and smart cooking. Promote home healthy kitchenware to reduce the production of high-oil, high-salt and high-sugar foods from the source.
