China Earthquake Network officially determined that a magnitude 7.9 earthquake occurred in Myanmar (21.85 degrees north latitude, 95.95 degrees east longitude) at 14:20 on March 28, with a depth of 30 kilometers. After the earthquake, there was a quake in many places in Yunnan Province.

"I was sitting on the sofa and saw the lights on the roof swaying violently. I thought it was a strong wind and wanted to stand up and go to the window to look, but I couldn't stand steadily. The door and window were ringing, and then I realized it was an earthquake." Ms. Li, who lives in Xishan District, Kunming City, told The Paper that she was sitting on the sofa watching TV during the earthquake. The chandelier in the house was shaking violently. It was a bit difficult for her to stand up. The whole process lasted for more than ten seconds. Mr. Gong from Guandu District, Kunming City said that the shaking of the earthquake caused a little dizziness in his head, but he did not run away.

A resident of Mangshi, Dehong Prefecture, Yunnan said in an interview with The Paper that the earthquake was shaking very obviously and he couldn't stand it.

Located in Ruili City, southwestern tip of Yunnan, borders Myanmar on three sides. Staff from the Command Center of Ruili Emergency Management Bureau said that the local quake felt strong and had paid attention to the video rumored on the Internet in Ruili Fortune Plaza. Two people were slightly injured and sent to the hospital. The statistics are still under statistics on house damage and personnel injuries.
