CCTV news: The reporter learned from the Ministry of Natural Resources that the scientific expedition team that carried out the Arctic manned deep diving mission successfully returned on October 27, relying on my country's independently designed and built world's first manned deep-diving operation mothership with ice-breaking capabilities, the "Exploration 3" and the "Struggle" manned submersible. The "Struggle" completed a total of 43 dive operations in the Arctic, and achieved joint underwater operations with the "Jiaolong" manned submersible, innovating my country's dual-manned submersible underwater collaborative operation model.

The Arctic manned deep-diving scientific expedition team set off from Sanya on July 22 this year, and together with the "Jiaolong" manned deep-diving team, went to the Arctic Ocean to perform a deep-diving mission. During this period, the scientific expedition team operated in the Arctic Ocean for 56 days and conducted a series of scientific investigations and experiments. The "Struggle" completed 43 submersible operations. At the same time, the manned deep diving team of the "Jiaolong" completed my country's first dive into the Arctic ice and conducted underwater collaborative operations with the "Struggle". In the central basin where sea ice coverage is greater than 80%, the scientific expedition team conducted the world's first manned deep-diving scientific expedition to the Gak Mid-Ocean Ridge, with a maximum diving depth of 5,277 meters.

This voyage created a new mobile ice diving model of "ship-diving collaboration" in dense ice areas, making my country the only country in the world to conduct continuous manned deep dives in dense Arctic sea ice areas. The scientific expedition team collected a batch of precious water bodies, sediments, rocks and biological samples, and obtained a large amount of observation data, which will provide important scientific support for in-depth research on rapid climate change in the Arctic.
