The National Bureau of Statistics recently released economic data for the first three quarters. Among them, the service industry economy has achieved rapid growth, the modern service industry has led development, and the emerging service industry has made new progress.
The "stability" of the service industry has made a significant contribution to economic growth. Preliminary calculations show that in the first three quarters, the added value of the service industry was 59,295.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.4%. The added value of the service industry accounted for 58.4% of the GDP, an increase of 0.8 percentage points from the same period last year, and contributed 60.7% to the growth of the national economy, driving the GDP growth by 3.1 percentage points. The service industry plays an increasingly important role in the national economy. The rapid growth of service consumption will accelerate the transformation of the economic structure from industry and commodity trade to a service economy, which will help form a more dynamic and resilient economic structure.
The continuous iteration of new driving forces and new technologies continues to stimulate the development potential of the service industry. In daily life, express outlets on the street offer "next-day delivery" and are increasingly more efficient; companies' smart customer service responds "in seconds" and "doesn't go astray"; in the community, you can use smart terminals to apply for social security and pay utilities without leaving your home. The iterative development of artificial intelligence and other technologies makes the experience of those being served better. In the first three quarters, the added value of the information transmission, software and information technology services industry increased by 11.2% year-on-year, and the production index in September reached 12.8%; the digital technology application industry was not far behind, with revenue growth of 11.7% from January to August, putting "digital intelligence" from a slogan into practice. There is also investment in high-tech services, which increased by 6.1% year-on-year, of which the investment in information services increased by as high as 33.1%. The market's favor for the "technical content" of the service industry makes the potential of new driving forces clearly visible.
The improvement and upgrading of service consumption has brought more models and new trends to economic development. In the first three quarters, service retail sales increased by 5.2%, 0.6 percentage points higher than the growth rate of commodity retail sales. More consumers are willing to pay for "experience" and "quality". The "performance + travel" model during the summer has attracted countless attention, and the e-commerce transaction volume of tourism service platforms has increased by more than 20%; from July to August, the number of commercial performances and box office across the country both increased. Many popular dramas have sold out their national tours, local music festivals combine local intangible cultural heritage to create special performances, and many consumers plan short trips specifically for a performance. "Watch a show + check in" has become a new consumer trend. As consumer demands become increasingly diversified, personalized customized services have become a trend, with consumers shifting from purchasing goods to enjoying service experiences.
The "international fan power" of the service industry cannot be ignored. From January to August, my country's service trade import and export increased by 7.4%, of which the export of travel services soared to 57.6%; the transit visa-free policy has been strengthened, and the number of foreigners eligible for visa-free entry increased by 52.1% year-on-year, and the popularity of "China Travel" continues to rise. At the same time, the actual use of foreign investment in the service industry was 366.19 billion yuan, accounting for more than 70% of all foreign investment. This shows that the international market has full confidence in China's service industry, and the open service industry is attracting more global resources.
The service industry economy continued to operate smoothly in the first three quarters, and the quality of development continued to improve. It is believed that as more high-quality services and new technologies are further integrated, consumers' sense of experience and demand will continue to increase, and the service industry will release more potential and provide new growth points for economic development.
