As the new semester begins, the reporter came to the Bay Area School of Tsinghua Affiliated Middle School in Tianhe District, Guangzhou, just in time for the second class to be over. The length of the class in the primary school has been adjusted from the original 10 minutes to 15 minutes.
Starting this semester, the morning class hours of compulsory education schools in Hainan Province have also been adjusted to ensure that primary schools do not get earlier than 8:20 and middle schools do not get earlier than 8:00. This change has relieved students' morning travel pressure and also given students more sleep time. In addition, the break time between classes is adjusted to no less than 15 minutes to ensure that students have a comprehensive activity time of at least 2 hours per day. After adjustment, the lunch break and school break generally remain unchanged.
As of now, Beijing, Tianjin, Guangdong, Hebei and other provinces, Wenzhou, Zhejiang, Quanzhou, Fujian, Qingdao, Shandong, Wuhan, Hubei and other districts and cities have issued relevant policy documents on "one physical education class every day, two hours of physical exercise every day, 15 minutes between classes, etc.".
In the "Several Measures to Further Strengthen the Physical Education Work in Primary and Secondary Schools in the New Era" officially released by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission and the Beijing Municipal Sports Bureau, that is, the "Eight Regulations on Sports" of primary and secondary schools in Beijing also clearly states that high schools have 3-5 physical education classes per week, and no less than 45 minutes of physical exercise should be arranged on the day without physical education classes, and schools shall not squeeze out physical education classes in any form. The document also requires the school to make full use of large-scale and after-school services, organize students to carry out rotation activities of at least 10 items such as ball, rope skipping, shuttlecock jumping, and rubber band jumping, to ensure that each student in the compulsory education stage masters at least 2 sports skills.
In addition, the document also fully deployed a "class competition" with all members and full participation in the entire process in primary and secondary schools in Beijing for the first time. It is required to organize class leagues every semester, with no less than 5 games for each primary school class, no less than 4 games for junior high school, and no less than 3 games for high school. In addition to adding more physical education classes, we also need to improve quality.
