On September 14, President Xi Jinping and Swiss Federal President Keller Zutel exchanged congratulatory messages to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Xi Jinping pointed out that China and Switzerland are examples of friendly cooperation among countries in different social systems and at different stages of development. In the 75 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the two sides have worked together to cultivate the China-Swissland cooperation spirit of "equality, innovation and win-win". The bilateral and multilateral cooperation has achieved fruitful results, enhanced the welfare of the people of the two countries, and made positive contributions to the maintenance of multilateralism and free trade. I attach great importance to the development of China-Swissland relations and am willing to work with Chairman Keller Zutel to take the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations as an opportunity to deepen economic and trade, financial cooperation and cultural exchanges, elevate the China-Swissland innovative strategic partnership to a new level, and make new contributions to promoting a multi-polarization and inclusive economic globalization of an equal and orderly world.
Keller Zutel said that over the past 75 years, Switzerland and China have insisted on exchanges and dialogue, mutual respect and pragmatic cooperation, and have established a diverse and solid partnership. The implementation of the free trade agreement between the two countries in 2014 and the establishment of the strategic innovation partnership in 2016 are both milestones in Switzerland-China relations, marking the continuous expansion and deepening of cooperation between the two sides in various fields. Looking ahead, Switzerland is willing to continue to deepen exchanges and cooperation with China and enhance long-term friendship between the two countries.
