Large-scale pictures and calligraphy exhibitions commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory of the War of Resistance against Japan opened in Hong Kong

Xinhua News Agency Hong Kong (Huang Qiantian) "Memories of the Beacon, Bimohe Mountains and Rivers - Large-scale Pictures and Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition of Hong Kong Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Anti-Japanese War" opened at the Hong Kong General Hall on the 13th.

This exhibition is divided into two parts: calligraphy, painting and historical pictures. More than 70 famous calligraphers and painters have devoted themselves to this exhibition. The nearly 80 works on display include soldiers killing enemies on the battlefield, the pictures of the people supporting the front line, and the broken city under the air raid and the unyielding light in people's eyes.

The nearly 70 precious historical pictures on display, from the September 18th Incident in 1931 to the victory of the Anti-Japanese War in 1945, were vividly reproduced with images as clues.

Lo Shupei, Director of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, said in a speech that this year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan. The SAR government and all sectors of society have organized a series of commemorative activities, aiming to remember history, carry forward the national spirit with patriotism as the core, and build a consensus that citizens contribute to national development.

Tu Huilong, Chairman of the Hong Kong Cultural Promotion Association, said in his speech that the original intention and mission of holding this exhibition is to carry forward the great national spirit, lead the young generation to appreciate the great spirit of the War of Resistance, and enhance national identity and cultural confidence.

This exhibition is hosted by the Hong Kong Cultural Promotion Association, and the Culture and Sports Bureau of the SAR Government, the Civil Affairs and Youth Affairs Bureau of the SAR Government, and the Publicity and Culture and Sports Department of the Central Government Liaison Office in Hong Kong serves as the guidance agencies.

This exhibition will last until the 18th.
