CCTV News (News Network): Data from the China Light Industry Federation shows that in the first half of the year, my country's light industry continued its recovery and positive trend since the fourth quarter of last year, with steady progress in production. The added value of light industry above scale increased by 7.0% year-on-year, and operating income reached 11.3 trillion yuan.
In the consumer market, the policy-driven effect is significant. In the first half of the year, the retail sales of 11-category goods in Light Industry exceeded 4.3 trillion yuan, an increase of 11.6% year-on-year. Thanks to the policy of exchanging consumer goods, the production of electric bicycles, household refrigerators, washing machines, gas stoves and other products has achieved double-digit growth. As policies continue to expand and consumption potential continue to be released, retail sales of household appliances, audio-visual equipment and furniture products increased by 30.7% and 22.9% year-on-year respectively, continuing the rapid growth momentum since the beginning of the year.
In the industrial upgrading level, in the first half of the year, light industrial products accelerated toward high-end and intelligent. Among them, the penetration rate of digital R&D tools for large-scale light industrial enterprises reached 86.2%, effectively driving the large-scale production of high-value-added products.
In addition, light industry exports continue to maintain resilience. In the first half of the year, exports of light industrial commodities were US$456.8 billion, and among the 21 major industries, 11 industries achieved year-on-year growth in exports.
