CCTV News (News Network): The reporter learned from the Ministry of Natural Resources that in the first half of the year, my country's marine economy was steady and improving. Preliminary calculations showed that the GDP of marine production was 5.1 trillion yuan, an increase of 5.8% year-on-year.
In the first half of the year, major marine traditional industries continued to play the role of "ballast stone". The marine ship industry's international market share remains leading. The added value of marine tourism industry was 771.8 billion yuan, an increase of 8% year-on-year. The resilience of the marine transportation industry is highlighted, with marine freight volume and cargo turnover increasing by 5.2% and 6.9% year-on-year respectively.
The development trend of emerging marine industries is good. The number of marine engineering equipment delivery and handheld orders increased by 39.3% and 9.7% year-on-year respectively.
The supply capacity of marine resource factors has steadily increased. The area of newly approved sea-use islands nationwide was 167,000 hectares, an increase of 25.2% year-on-year, effectively ensuring the demand for sea-use islands for major projects. At the same time, the supply capacity of clean ocean energy has been continuously improved, and the newly added grid-connected capacity and power generation of offshore wind power increased by 199.4% and 2.2% year-on-year respectively. The construction of "blue grain silo" has also been steadily promoted, with domestic marine aquatic products output increasing by 4.8% year-on-year.
