Today (July 22), the reporter learned from China National Offshore Oil Corporation that the Kenli 10-2 Oilfield Development Project, located in the Bohai Sea of my country, was successfully put into production, marking the official entry of the largest offshore shallow lithologic oil field in my country.
Kenli 10-2 Oilfield is located in the southern waters of the Bohai Sea, about 245 kilometers away from Tianjin City, with an average regional water depth of about 20 meters. It has proven geological reserves exceeding 100 million tons. It is the first lithogenic oilfield discovered in the shallow layer of the Bohai Bay Basin sag zone.
Kenli 10-2 Oilfield is the first branch-like heavy oil reservoir developed at sea in my country. Underground oil and gas are distributed in narrow, long and curved sand bodies, and different sand bodies are intertwined, like the shadows of branches on the ground, showing "branch-like shapes". They have the characteristics of scattered reserve distribution, complex geological conditions, and large viscosity span of underground crude oil, which is difficult to mine. The successful start of the Kenli 10-2 oil field development project marks a new stage in the development of my country's complex offshore heavy oil reservoirs, and has accumulated experience for the subsequent development of such reservoirs. It will effectively promote the Bohai Oilfield, the largest offshore oil field in my country, to achieve the goal of oil and gas production of 40 million tons this year.
