This newspaper, Beijing, May 18 (Reporter Kong Dechen) Recently, the State Administration for Market Regulation (National Standards Committee) and the Ministry of Emergency Management jointly held a press conference on important national standards in the fields of disaster prevention, mitigation, relief and production safety, introducing the recent release of the "Rules for Determination of Major Fire Hazards" and other important national standards.

At the meeting, Liu Hongsheng, Director of the Standards and Technology Department of the State Administration for Market Regulation, introduced that as of now, China has established a safety production standard system covering more than 2,000 national standards in 10 major fields such as mining, hazardous chemicals, and fire protection, providing technical guarantees for improving the level of inherent safety.

In recent years, the State Administration for Market Regulation (National Standards Committee) has focused on three aspects to increase the formulation and revision of national standards, help eliminate safety hazards around the people, and promote the construction of a solid line of defense for disaster prevention, reduction and relief.

First, continue to improve the national standard system for production safety; second, continue to increase the supply of mandatory national standards; third, continue to strengthen the standard support for the management of accident hazards. Since the 14th Five-Year Plan, more than 70 national standards for disaster prevention, mitigation and relief have been approved and issued, and more than 100 national standard plans have been issued, involving important industries such as emergency plan preparation, disaster risk assessment, meteorological disaster prevention and mitigation, emergency shelter places, and rescue materials, providing standard guarantees for promoting the transformation of safety governance from post-remediation to pre-prevention.

The five national standards released in this special topic focus on fire safety, production safety, disaster prevention, mitigation and relief, and will help relevant parties further improve the scientific, standardized and professional level of emergency management work.
