At present, my country is fully promoting the development of new energy in deserts, Gobi and desert areas, helping my country achieve its "dual carbon" goal.
In the past few days, on the southern edge of the Taklamakan Desert, nearly 100 construction machinery is being built in the first "Shago Wilderness" integrated scenery, fire storage base in southern Xinjiang. After completion and production, 5 million kilowatts of reliable power support can be provided to the Sichuan-Chongqing region during evening rush hour.
At present, large-scale wind power photovoltaic bases with a focus on "Shagohuang" are the main battlefield for my country's new energy development. As of the end of 2024, the first batch of 50 base projects have been basically completed and put into production, with an installed capacity of more than 90 million kilowatts. At the same time, the rapid growth of installed capacity has driven technological innovation and industrial upgrading in the upstream and downstream of the new energy industry chain.
This large wind power equipment manufacturing company in Sichuan has been stepping up the production of 10 megawatt large-capacity fans customized for the "Shagohuang" large base. This model with strong anti-fouling and sand protection design has installed more than 400 units in Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia. In Gansu, the world's first artificial chamber compressed air energy storage project has entered the equipment installation stage. This pilot technology promoted in the new energy field can efficiently store the surplus electricity of new energy, which will provide support for large-scale green power transmission in my country's "Shagohuang" area.
This year, the country will continue to increase its support for the construction of the "Shagohuang" scenic base. On the one hand, we will strengthen the research and development of key wind and light storage technologies to improve the adaptability of power generation efficiency and power grid; on the other hand, we will increase investment in power grid supporting facilities to ensure that the clean electricity in the "Shagohuang" area is smoothly connected to the grid and transported to more places.
