A reporter recently learned from the National Sports Administration that recently, the General Administration of Sports, the Ministry of Education, the State Ethnic Affairs Commission, the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the National Health Commission, the National Bureau of Statistics, and the All-China Federation of Trade Unions jointly issued a notice on carrying out the sixth national physical fitness monitoring work, requiring all relevant departments to do a good job in various preparations to ensure the smooth implementation of the monitoring work. At the same time, in response to the notice of the General Administration of Sports on the 2025 National Fitness Activities Survey, the survey on the status of national fitness activities across the country was also carried out in an orderly manner.
It is reported that both activities have been approved and implemented by the National Bureau of Statistics, and statistical surveys will be carried out strictly in accordance with the statistical survey system to ensure that the statistical data is true, accurate, timely and reliable.
The sixth national physical fitness monitoring targets are Chinese citizens aged 3 to 79 (excluding those aged 7 to 19). They are divided into three groups by age: young children (3 to 6 years old), adults (20 to 59 years old) and elderly people (60 to 79 years old). The monitoring content includes two parts: questionnaire survey and physical fitness test, which mainly focuses on the physical fitness level of the Chinese people.
Based on the basis of carrying out multiple technical training work, since March, many places across the country have successively launched surveys on the status of national fitness activities. The sample survey of this national fitness activity status covers 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities across the country. Each province, autonomous regions and municipality randomly selected 10 to 20 counties, and 500 county-level samples, 6,500 villages (neighborhood committees), and 143,000 individual samples were selected nationwide. The questionnaire includes the number of people who regularly participate in physical exercise by urban and rural residents, the organizational form of participating in physical fitness, venues and facilities, activities and events, as well as physical fitness activities and sports consumption such as physical fitness guidance.
According to reports that regularly monitoring the physical condition of our country's national people can grasp the changes in the physical condition of the national people, formulate targeted national fitness policies, and improve the level of scientific fitness guidance and public service capabilities of national fitness. The survey on the status of national fitness activities can understand the current situation of national fitness development in my country in a relatively comprehensive and timely manner, and provide an important basis for the country to scientifically formulate relevant policies for the development of mass sports.
