The plan has revised and expanded the catalog of industries that encourage foreign investment, optimized the structure of foreign investment, and promoted foreign investment to serve the high-quality development of my country's manufacturing industry. At present, foreign investment in China is leaping from traditional manufacturing to high-tech fields.
Since this year, a number of major foreign-funded projects have been intensively accelerating the implementation of construction. The projects include both traditional manufacturing industries such as automobiles and machinery and equipment, as well as service industries such as R&D centers. In Suzhou Industrial Park, a global R&D center invested and built by a Japanese-funded enterprise was officially opened not long ago. It is understood that the R&D center has invested 1 billion yuan, making it the third R&D center that the company has deployed in China.
In addition to laying out R&D centers in China, this year, foreign investment in China's industrial structure has continued to be optimized, showing high-end, intelligent and green characteristics, among which the field of artificial intelligence has become the focus of the layout of the foreign asset industry chain.
Industry insiders told reporters that the continuous optimization of the investment attraction structure is an important feature of my country's current attracting foreign investment. Data shows that in January 2025, my country's high-tech manufacturing industry actually used foreign capital of RMB 12.24 billion, accounting for 12.5% of the country's actual use of foreign capital, an increase of 0.8 percentage points from the whole year of 2024. The actual use of foreign capital in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry and the scientific and technological achievement transformation service industry increased by 68.4% and 23.9% respectively.
