Recently, there have been several cases of robberies involving Chinese citizens’ shops in Nauru, resulting in injuries and property losses. The Chinese Embassy in Nauru has expressed serious concerns to the Nauru police and urged the police to increase their efforts to solve the case and take practical measures to protect the personal safety and legitimate rights and interests of Chinese citizens. As Christmas and New Year are approaching, the embassy hereby reminds compatriots in Nau to raise their safety awareness and strengthen safety precautions:
1. Pay close attention to the local security situation and try to avoid traveling alone at night or going to areas with relatively complicated security situations.
2. Be sure to improve security measures in shops, residences and other places, promptly check for hidden dangers, repair loopholes, and hire local community security personnel.
3. Avoid carrying large amounts of cash in business premises or with you, and try to use safe methods such as electronic payment.
