At the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Safadi of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, visited Jordan from December 14 to 15, 2025.
The two sides emphasized that the leaders of the two countries are willing to strengthen cooperation to actively benefit the friendly peoples of the two countries. Both sides expressed appreciation for the level of cooperation between the two countries in various fields and will continue dialogue and coordination, expand cooperation, and achieve the development policy goals of the two countries.
The two sides held discussions focusing on deepening cooperation between the two countries in traditional fields such as economy and trade, infrastructure, energy, defense, transportation, and justice, tapping the potential for cooperation in new fields such as scientific and technological innovation, communications technology, digital economy, artificial intelligence, and green energy, and expanding cooperation and exchanges in the fields of culture, tourism, news, education, student exchanges, and think tanks. The two sides also discussed measures to facilitate personnel exchanges between the two countries.
The Jordanian side reiterated its stance on adhering to the one-China policy, emphasizing that the government of the People's Republic of China is the only legitimate government representing the whole of China, and Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory.
Both sides emphasized the importance of carrying out people-to-people exchanges through culture and art and strengthening cooperation between legislative bodies.
The two sides pointed out that the two countries have carried out effective cooperation in multilateral diplomatic occasions and emphasized the importance of continuing to strengthen coordination and cooperation. Jordan appreciates the series of major initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping.
Both sides emphasized that various agreements and memorandums of understanding signed by the two countries should be implemented to serve the common interests of the two countries and achieve the common goals of the two countries.
The two sides discussed the regional situation and the development of the situation in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. Emphasizing the need to achieve a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire in Gaza and achieve emergency, immediate and sustainable access to aid to respond to the humanitarian crisis. The two sides emphasized that the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza should be combined with genuine political efforts aimed at establishing a sovereign independent Palestinian state based on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions.
The Jordanian side highly appreciates President Xi Jinping’s initiatives to resolve the Palestinian issue and the announcement of a new batch of aid to Palestine. China appreciates the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan's efforts to achieve regional security and stability and its tremendous efforts in providing humanitarian relief in Gaza, and affirms the importance of the Hashemite family's historic guardianship of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
Both sides emphasized that the China-Arab Cooperation Forum is a comprehensive platform for active interaction between China and Arab countries and has played an important role. Jordan supports China in hosting the second China-Arab Summit in 2026.
