What changes have occurred in my country’s import trade in recent years?
This year’s CIIE will involve 155 countries, regions and international organizations, reaching a new high in scale.

In terms of national exhibitions, 6 countries including Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, Nigeria, Georgia, Sweden, and Colombia will serve as the guest countries.
In terms of corporate exhibitions, this CIIE will continue to set up six major exhibition areas including medical equipment and medicine and health care, automobiles and smart travel, technical equipment, consumer goods, agricultural and food products, and service trade, as well as an innovation incubation area.
This year’s corporate exhibition covers an area of over 367,000 square meters, including 290 Fortune 500 and industry-leading companies. Both the exhibition area and the total number of companies have reached record highs.

The first launch will be a prominent keyword at this year's CIIE. 461 new products, new technologies, and new services will be unveiled, covering future industries such as low-altitude economy and humanoid robots.
At present, China has become the world's second largest consumer market and import market. The latest data shows that in the first three quarters of this year, my country imported 13.66 trillion yuan, which means an average of about 50 billion yuan in imports every day. Divided equally among 1.4 billion people, that’s about 36 yuan per person per day.
In my country’s import trade, which categories are accelerating growth? Let’s look at the data released by the General Administration of Customs:
· In the category of imported cosmetics, my country imported 204,000 tons of cosmetics in 2018, which has increased to 325,000 tons in 2024, which is equivalent to the weight of the "Bird's Nest" steel structures of seven national stadiums.
·In terms of imported food, my country imported 4.22 million tons of meat in 2018, and by 2024, it has reached 6.67 million tons.

The scale of imported consumer goods continues to expand, indicating that domestic consumption levels are also constantly upgrading.
