Electricity consumption data is the "barometer" and "wind vane" of economic and social operations. Electricity data such as electricity consumption in the first three quarters of this year show that my country's economy continues to operate smoothly and the energy supply is stable and strong.
The electricity consumption of the whole society in the first three quarters reached a record high
The electricity consumption of the whole society in the first three quarters of this year reached 7.77 trillion kilowatt hours, a record high. Among them, the electricity consumption of the whole society increased by 2.5%, 4.9% and 6.1% year-on-year respectively in the first, second and third quarters, and the year-on-year growth rate picked up quarter by quarter.

In the first three quarters, clean energy power generation such as hydropower, wind power, and solar power accounted for 35.3%, an increase of 1.9 percentage points from the same period last year.
In the third quarter of this year, the electricity consumption of the whole country was 2.9 trillion kilowatt hours; among which, after the historic breakthrough of one trillion kilowatt hours of electricity consumption in July, it exceeded one trillion again in August, setting a record high for two consecutive months, marking that my country's economic and social development has entered a new stage of energy consumption scale.
Digitizing from the East and Counting from the West: The digital industry has full "power"
Driven by the rapid development of mobile Internet, big data, cloud computing and other industries, the electricity consumption of the Internet and related service industries increased by 33.8% year-on-year in the third quarter. The rapid development of the digital economy is bringing new growth points to the economy.

Before the launch of the "East Data and West Calculation" project in Qingyang, Gansu Province, the local electricity consumption related to computing power was basically zero. After 2022, the electricity consumption of the "East Data and West Calculation" industrial park will account for an increasing proportion of Qingyang's overall electricity consumption. Since the beginning of this year, the monthly growth rate of electricity consumption here has been among the highest in Gansu. The completion of the investment in the "Digital in the East and Count in the West" project has driven the local tertiary industry investment growth by nearly 20%. Now, Qingyang City has connected with more than 5,900 digital economy companies, and more than 450 subsidiaries have taken root. The number of companies in the information transmission, software and information technology service industry has increased to 10, and revenue has increased by 78.4% year-on-year.
Manufacturing upgrades: Factory workshops are surging with "kinetic energy"
In the first three quarters of this year, the secondary industry consumed 4.91 trillion kilowatt-hours of electricity, a year-on-year increase of 3.4%. In August this year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology successively released work plans for stabilizing growth in industries such as electronic information manufacturing, automobile industry, power equipment industry, light industry, steel industry, building materials industry, petrochemical industry, non-ferrous metal industry, and machinery industry. The combination of "anti-involution" and "steady growth" effectively boosted market confidence and drove the growth rate of electricity consumption in the secondary industry to rebound in the third quarter.
Among them, the electricity consumption of the secondary industry increased by 5.1% year-on-year in the third quarter, contributing 51% to the growth of electricity consumption in the whole society, becoming the main driving force for the growth of electricity consumption in the whole society.
In the first three quarters, the electricity consumption of the tertiary industry increased by 7.5% year-on-year. In the third quarter, the electricity consumption of the tertiary industry increased by 8.3% year-on-year.

In September this year, the electricity consumption of Ningbo's manufacturing industry increased by 14.87% year-on-year, and the electricity consumption of the equipment manufacturing industry contributed 40% to the growth of electricity consumption in Ningbo's entire manufacturing industry. In the third quarter, Suzhou's computer, communications and other electronic equipment manufacturing industries consumed more than 6 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, a year-on-year increase of 8.5%.
This year, my country's high-tech and equipment manufacturing industries have expanded rapidly. In the third quarter, total electricity consumption increased by 9.5% year-on-year, becoming a new driving force for electricity consumption growth. Among them, the automobile manufacturing industry, electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing industry, and general equipment manufacturing industry all increased their electricity consumption by more than 10% year-on-year.
Behind the record high electricity consumption in the first three quarters
is a further demonstration of the strong resilience of my country's energy supply capacity
It also reflects the increasing vitality of my country's economy
