The reporter learned from the China Coal Industry Association that in the first 11 months of 2024, the national output of raw coal above designated size was 4.32 billion tons, an increase of 1.2% year-on-year, the highest output in the same period in history; coal imports were 490 million tons, an increase of 14.8% year-on-year. The national coal supply is very sufficient.
The "three highs and one reduction" of coal supply and demand continues to release high-quality production capacity
Experts said that from the perspective of coal supply and demand situation, since last year, the national coal supply and demand has shown the characteristics of "three highs and one reduction". The "three highs" mean that domestic coal production has a steady growth, imports have increased significantly, and inventory remains at a high level. "One drop" means that prices continue to be in a reasonable range and steadily decline. As of the end of November last year, coal storage in thermal power plants can be used for about 32 days, providing strong support for peak winter warmth and supply.
In the production dispatching and command center of a coal enterprise in Shuozhou, Shanxi, the large screen shows the real mining situation of the underground operating surface in real time. By adopting the "double-sided mining" method of "main mining face + auxiliary mining face", the daily output of the coal mine reaches 10,000 tons. At present, a total of 3.6 million tons of coal have been produced, and the supply guarantee task has been successfully completed.
While coal production capacity hits a new high, my country's clean and efficient coal utilization level is also constantly improving. This coal enterprise in Xuzhou, Jiangsu recently built a drying warehouse for material storage of thermal power plants. The project can not only increase the amount of coal stored, but also properly handle and mix coal slime by-products, effectively improving resource utilization. The reporter saw on the spot that the wet coal slime becomes dry high-quality fuel after feeding coal, throwing cloth, drying and collecting processes.
National railways adjusted maps on the 5th to ensure winter coal transportation
From a national perspective, in the 2024 warm season, the power coal transportation capacity will be optimized and improved. Starting from January 5, the national railway will implement a new train operation map, which will further improve the capacity of major freight channels and provide support for coal supply.
At the loading station of this coal enterprise in Inner Mongolia, two fully automatic loading and unloading chutes are busy operating. The raw coal in the pipeline is loaded out after quantitatively loading and loading out. A train full of 3,600 tons of coal is slowly departing and transported to Changchun, Siping, Benxi, Fushun and other places.
From a national perspective, in the 2024 warm season, the transportation capacity of electric coal will be optimized and improved. In terms of power and coal transportation, the railway department plays the role of heavy-duty railways such as Daqin, Haoji, and Wari to improve the logarithm of heavy-duty railway trains. 63 ordinary freight trains have been added on lines such as Jitong Railway and Yanshi Railway. Starting from the 5th, a new train operation map will be implemented across the country. The total number of railway freight trains nationwide will reach 22,859, an increase of 91 from the current chart. Lanqing, Longhai and Lanzhou Railways have added 6, 10 and 10 cargo trains respectively. There will be more than 400 direct bulk cargo trains, providing strong support for ensuring energy supply in winter and the smooth operation of the national economy.
