This year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. At present, Xinjiang's industrial development has improved quality and efficiency, reform and opening up continues to deepen, infrastructure construction has been accelerated, people's lives have been continuously improved, and the overall social situation has continued to be harmonious and stable. With the deepening of the joint construction of the "Belt and Road", Xinjiang is no longer a remote area, but a core and hub area for opening up to the outside world. Driven by the joint construction of the "Belt and Road", Xinjiang is committed to building a highland for opening up to the west, deepening economic and trade cooperation with all parties, and achieving fruitful results.

Xinjiang is an open Xinjiang and a confident Xinjiang. This hot land is active with many foreigners. Some of them come to visit and travel, some come to study abroad, some come to negotiate cooperation, and some take root in this hot land to do business and start businesses. Starting today, our newspaper will open a column called "International Persons Look at Xinjiang", inviting many international people who work, live in Xinjiang or visit this hot land many times to tell the story of Xinjiang in their eyes. stay tuned.

In a fertilizer production enterprise in Tamen Town, Aral City, Xinjiang, bags of water-soluble fertilizers are exported from the production line in an orderly manner. Workers skillfully transport and stack them and then transport them to various places.

Deconel Danny Camill, the founder of this company, shuttled between the workshop and the office, and the phone rings rang one after another. He is already in his 60s, but his energy is not diminished at all. He is busy finalizing order details with customers in fluent Chinese, and his eyes are occasionally sweeping over the production data that is jumping on the electronic screen.

In 1988, Danny, who had just graduated from college, followed his mentor's advice and came to China from his hometown of Belgium to do feed testing in Shenzhen. Later, he joined a Finnish company in Zhanjiang, Guangdong to make water-soluble fertilizers, and worked for more than ten years.

In 2005, in order to promote water-soluble fertilizers, Danny came to Xinjiang for the first time. At that time, a customer told him that the local area was applying drip irrigation technology on a large scale.

"China's agricultural market has broad prospects. Fertilizer follows water. Xinjiang uses drip irrigation technology on a large scale, and the market demand for water-soluble fertilizers is huge." Danny recalled, "Soon, I decided to stay in Xinjiang!"

In 2006, Danny founded the first local water-soluble fertilizer factory in Shawan. He and his team developed formulas based on different soil characteristics to help farmers improve saline-alkali land.

"In the past, the saline-alkali land here was full of white salt, as if it had snowed." Danny said that after soil improvement, green cotton seedlings grew in the saline-alkali land. Over the past decade, the factory's production base has expanded from 1 to 4, with annual sales exceeding 40,000 tons and improved land exceeding 2 million mu. The company has also obtained high-tech enterprise certification.

Danny participated in and witnessed the historic changes in Xinjiang's cotton industry in improving soil, water-saving irrigation, and mechanized harvesting.

Danny never stopped exploring. In his eyes, as a major agricultural and animal husbandry province, Xinjiang has high-quality fertilizers that nourish crops and can provide better feed for breeding; and the organic waste generated by the breeding industry can be converted into natural fertilizers to feed back to the land.

"In Xinjiang, there are always new opportunities." Danny began to try to introduce Belgian blue bulls. "Belgian blue bulls grow fast and have a high meat yield. If they can cross them with local Xinjiang beefs, they will definitely improve product quality and increase economic benefits."

After unremitting efforts, his vision became a reality. At present, Danny's breeding farm has more than 300 heads in stock, and the frozen semen technology has also been promoted to Inner Mongolia, Shandong and other places. He plans to establish an embryo transfer center to promote the quality and efficiency of the beef cattle industry.

After 20 years in Xinjiang, Danny has completely integrated into local life. During the Spring Festival, he would paste Spring Festival couplets and make dumplings with his employees. When he was tired, he would make a pot of tea and relax. When he was free, he would go shopping in the bazaar. When he was greedy, he would order a large plate of chicken and roasted buns.

Danny was also deeply moved by the changes in Xinjiang's appearance: "When I first arrived in Xinjiang, there were few airports in the whole Xinjiang, and I had to bump on the roads to southern Xinjiang for several days. Now more than 20 airports are connected to all places, highways are well connected, and railways are built to the Taklamakan Desert." What made him most moved was the changes in Tamen Town. In the past, there were only one main street town, but now new communities were one after another, and every household had a lot of cars, and even parking spaces were not enough.

"Xinjiang is right here, and this is a stage for me to do things and start businesses!" said Danny. As Xinjiang continues to advance as the core area of the Silk Road Economic Belt, Danny sees greater opportunities: "In the future, not only will fertilizers and cattle seeds be sold to other provinces, but also to Central Asian countries." His wish, along with the development of this hot land, is becoming a reality step by step.
