Recently, a number of nuclear power projects such as the third phase of Zhejiang Province have been approved, of which 8 units use my country's independent third-generation nuclear power technology "Hualong No. 1". So far, the total number of units under operation and approved for construction at home and abroad has reached 41, making it the third-generation nuclear power technology with the largest number of units under operation and approved for construction in the world.
This was learned by the reporter from Hualong International Nuclear Power Technology Co., Ltd. a few days ago.
"Hualong No. 1" is the third-generation nuclear power technology independently developed by my country. It has complete independent intellectual property rights, meets the world's highest safety requirements and the latest technical standards, and is the "national business card" for my country's nuclear power to the world.
2025 marks the tenth anniversary of the start of the first demonstration project of the world "Hualong No. 1". According to a relevant person in charge of Hualong International Nuclear Power Technology Co., Ltd., with the efficient and reliable construction cycle and independent and controllable industrial chain and supply chain system, "Hualong No. 1" has achieved batch and large-scale construction. At present, 7 "Hualong No. 1" units have been successfully completed and put into operation at home and abroad, with excellent production and operation performance.
The person in charge said that in the future, Hualong International will further play the role of Hualong technology collaborative innovation platform, gather and explore my country's technological innovation advantages and endowments in the entire nuclear power industry chain, continuously improve the comprehensive competitiveness of "Hualong No. 1", and strive to build "Hualong No. 1" into the "vanguard" and "main force" of China's nuclear power overseas.
It is understood that each nuclear power unit of "Hualong No. 1" generates more than 10 billion kWh of electricity per year, which can meet the annual production and daily electricity needs of 1 million people in middle-developed countries; it is equivalent to reducing standard coal consumption by 3.12 million tons and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 8.16 million tons, which is equivalent to planting more than 70 million trees.
