CCTV News: On March 28, a strong earthquake occurred in central Myanmar, causing major casualties and property losses. At the request of the Myanmar government, the Chinese government's earthquake disaster loss investigation and assessment team rushed to Myanmar on April 16 and is still conducting disaster loss investigation and assessment in many places in Myanmar, providing a scientific basis for Myanmar's post-disaster reconstruction and disaster prevention and mitigation.
The expert team from Myanmar saw in Shige City, the epicenter of the earthquake, that a large number of brick walls collapsed, and some low-rise buildings had obvious deformation and inclination, which were seriously damaged and could no longer live in. At the Naypyid Children's Hospital, the capital city, about 260 kilometers away from the epicenter, experts found that the earthquake fault passed under one of the houses, causing the columns to be seriously tilted and broken, and obvious cracks appeared on the ground, which made the house structure seriously damaged.

The expert group found that the fault of the Myanmar earthquake exceeded 300 kilometers, directly affecting many densely populated cities such as the Myanmar capital Naypyidaw and Mandalay, and the earthquake losses were serious. With the full support of the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar and the Myanmar Government, the expert group focused on Yangon, Bogu, Naypyidaw, Mandalay, Shiga and other places, and carried out lifeline projects, building earthquake damage, earthquake geological disaster investigation and loss assessment. Through field investigation, the earthquake intensity and range are determined, and suggestions for emergency response and repair of damaged houses are put forward.
