Reading is the most basic cultural construction. We must thoroughly study and practice Xi Jinping’s cultural thoughts, promote national reading, and make reading truly a way of life and a spiritual pursuit for people.
The guests at the meeting believed that reading classics has fundamental significance for inheriting culture. We should guide people to read more Marxist classics, especially the works of General Secretary Xi Jinping, read more Chinese traditional culture classics, and read more ancient and modern Chinese and foreign literature and academic masterpieces. We must promote the overall construction of a bookish campus, a bookish family, and a bookish society, so that young people can develop the habit of reading from an early age. We must build convenient and affordable urban and rural reading spaces, run physical bookstores well, and create better conditions for reading. We must improve laws and regulations, establish and improve a comprehensive coordination mechanism for promoting national reading, and make advocating reading a stronger social trend.
