CCTV News: April 23 is the 30th World Book Day. In recent days, various reading promotion activities have been held across the country, leading the trend of national reading.

As the 30th World Book Day approaches, the National Library announces the results of the 20th Wenjin Book Award. 20 Wenjin books, including "Looking for Dunhuang in the World" and "Casting Shields for the Country: The Road to China's Atomic Bomb", and 46 Wenjin nominated books stand out, recommending good books to readers from multiple subjects and fields.

Commercial Press held the 2025 "Readers Open Day" event, released the 2025 "Commercial Press Teacher Reading Recommended Books", and presented awards to the top ten people who promoted reading. Around Reading Day, Commercial Press will also hold more than 10 activities such as the first release sharing sessions and reading festivals in many places such as Reading Day, to build an in-depth reading exchange platform for readers.

During this year's reading day, the third National Reading Season of the China Writers Association will hold a number of themed activities such as China Children's Literature Lectures and "Literature Open Classes". At the Capital College Student Youth Reading Club, hosted by the Beijing Municipal Party Committee Education Working Committee, Wang Meng, winner of the Mao Dun Literature Award, exchanged and shared the "charm of language and literature" with more than 400 teachers and students from 59 universities in the capital. In Pingyi, Shandong, more than 3,000 primary and secondary school students recite Confucian classics such as "The Book of Filial Piety" and "The University" in unison to feel the profound connotation of traditional culture.

In the Liudeng Bookstore in Wenjiang District, Chengdu, Sichuan, a Sino-foreign cultural exchange activity with the theme of "Taste the fragrance of books and 'Domain See' Classics" is being held. Nearly 200 Chinese and foreign readers read classic literary works together, and savored the charm of Chinese culture through theme sharing and interactive communication.

In Zhejiang, the "Reading Caravan" integrates reading and literary activities, packages and delivers them to mountainous islands and fields, opening up the "last mile" of high-quality cultural services to the grassroots level.
