CCTV News: Time flies. From 1957 to today, the Canton Fair has gone through 68 springs and autumns, and has moved four times. Exhibition halls have become "living fossils" that record China's opening up to the outside world. Today, let us follow the camera and decode the "genetic map" of the Canton Fair together, and feel that China's opening up will never stop.

At the Pazhou Exhibition Hall in Guangzhou, Guangdong, at this time, the "China's First Exhibition" Canton Fair is underway. Then do you know where the Canton Fair starts?
The document in the reporter's hand is the Canton Fair's "birth certificate", and the notice issued in 1957 on the "Ministry of Foreign Trade of the People's Republic of China agrees to hold the Export Commodity Fair in April". Since the fair is held in Guangzhou, everyone calls it the "Cantonese Fair". On April 25 of that year, the first Canton Fair, which had been brewing for a long time, kicked off at the Guangzhou Sino-Soviet Friendship Building behind the reporter. Although the exhibition hall area was only 9,000 square meters at that time, there were more than 10,000 varieties participating in the exhibition. In addition to daily light industrial products and agricultural and sideline products, there are also Jiefang brand cars designed and produced in my country, which became a major news at the time when it was exhibited.

The two Canton Fairs held in 1957 had a transaction volume of more than US$86 million, which was unprecedentedly successful at that time. Guangdong Province and the Ministry of Foreign Trade decided to build an independent exhibition hall for the Canton Fair. The hand-drawn perspective view in the reporter's hand is the Qiaoguang Road Exhibition Hall, located at No. 2 Qiaoguang Road, Guangzhou. The exhibition hall building is 5 stories high and has been built in half a year. It has a total construction area of 14,500 square meters. The third to the 5th Canton Fair will be held here.

In 1959, the Canton Fair moved to a new location—the Exhibition Hall of No. 1 Qiyi Road. Until the 34th Canton Fair was held here in 1973, it also became an important part of the "Zhuhai Danxin", one of the eight scenic spots in Yangcheng.
In 1974, the Canton Fair completed its third relocation - entering the Liuhua Road Exhibition Hall. On the eve of reform and opening up, this modern building complex with a total construction area of 170,000 square meters quietly laid the groundwork for the "Spring Story".
The trial was conducted in 2003 and the overall relocation to the Pazhou Exhibition Hall in 2008. This is the fourth time the Canton Fair has moved. By the Haizhu Bridge, by the Liuhua Lake, and under the Pazhou Tower, exhibition halls record the glorious journey of the Canton Fair, allowing the world to understand China while also allowing China to go global.
