At the press conference, a reporter asked: How did my country’s import and export performance with countries jointly building the “Belt and Road”? What new measures will the General Administration of Customs take to promote the joint construction of the "Belt and Road"?

Lu Daliang, spokesperson of the General Administration of Customs and director of the Statistical Analysis Department, responded that in the first quarter of this year, my country's imports and exports with countries jointly building the "Belt and Road" were 5.26 trillion yuan, an increase of 2.2% year-on-year, setting a new record for the same period in history. After the proportion of my country's foreign trade exceeded 50% for the first time last year, it continued to increase in the first quarter of this year, reaching 51.1%.

A series of landmark projects and "small but beautiful" projects are down-to-earth and benefiting people's livelihood. They have taken root and sprouted in the countries jointly building the "Belt and Road" and drive trade exchanges with related products. We work together with the countries that jointly build, and in the first quarter, intermediate products accounted for 65.1% of the import and export of my country and the countries that jointly build. We continue to expand cooperation in the agricultural field with the countries jointly established. In the first quarter, my country's export of pesticide preparations to the countries jointly established increased by 15.5%, and agricultural machinery increased by 37.2%; the import of poultry meat from the countries jointly established increased by 32.9%, and the import of dried and fresh fruits and melons increased by 8.5%. We actively carry out pragmatic cooperation in the field of people's livelihood with the co-construction country. In the first quarter, my country's export of medicinal materials and medicines to the co-construction country increased by 14.6%, and medical instruments and equipment increased by 5.1%. We support the joint construction country to continuously improve transportation and energy infrastructure conditions. In the first quarter, my country's export of rail transit equipment to the joint construction country increased by 10.7%, exported motors and generators increased by 17.4%, and exported wind turbines increased by 67.4%.

At present, the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" is the world's largest and largest international cooperation platform. Together, the countries jointly built have accounted for more than 40% of the global GDP and accounted for more than 50% of global exports. Its influence and voice in global governance are becoming increasingly important. The "Belt and Road" road of prosperity, opening up and innovation has effectively released the development potential of various countries and brought tangible benefits to the development of relevant countries and people's lives.

This year, the Customs will continue to guide the eight actions of high-quality joint construction of the "Belt and Road" and focus on co-construction of the country. It will actively promote the "Smart Customs" partner plan, deepen the mechanism cooperation of customs inspection and quarantine with the joint construction of the country; continue to vigorously support the construction of projects such as China-Europe Express, the Western Land-Sea New Corridor, and the "Silk Road Sea Transportation", continue to promote customs clearance convenience and safety, and promote the high-quality joint construction of the "Belt and Road" in depth and practical.
