Since the beginning of the year, various places have accelerated the construction of new energy storage projects, and the installed capacity has grown rapidly.

In Jimusar, Xinjiang, the integrated project of 1 million kilowatt-kilowatt-hour all-vana liquid flow energy storage is being actively promoted. As a GWh-level vanadium battery energy storage project, it has the advantages of high safety and long charge and discharge cycle life, and can meet the needs of large-scale long-term energy storage. At present, the photovoltaic area has met the conditions for grid connection, and the progress of the energy storage project has been completed by 30%.
In Golmud, Qinghai, the installation and commissioning of the world's largest liquid air energy storage project has been more than half, and it is planned to be connected to the grid within the year. The project adopts a new generation of key deep and low-temperature cooling technology, converting air into liquid storage through a low-temperature environment of -196℃, and the energy density is increased by more than three times compared with traditional technologies.

In addition, hydrogen energy is also one of the important directions of energy storage technology. In Jilin, the world's largest integrated green hydrogen ammonia alcohol project is under construction. The project is equipped with a hydrogen storage tank of 450,000 cubic meters, which can produce hydrogen through electrolyzed water, and then further synthesize ingammonia and green methanol.
Multiple departments promote the healthy and orderly development of new energy storage
In the critical period of "scale expansion" to "value creation", multiple departments of the country work together to use technological innovation as the engine and standard system as the support, and promote the leap of the new energy storage industry from "quantity" accumulation to "quality".
Data shows that in 2024, the installed capacity of my country's new energy storage capacity increased by 126.5% year-on-year, with a cumulative installed capacity reaching 78.3 GW. As of the end of February, the national installed capacity of new energy storage exceeded 75 million kilowatts. The equivalent utilization hours of new energy storage in 2024 will be about 1,000 hours, double the increase from 2023, and strongly support the construction of new power systems.

my country's new energy storage industry chain has developed rapidly to form a complete industrial chain system, and the economic feasibility and power cycle life of electrochemical energy storage products represented by lithium batteries have been significantly improved. In 2024, the total output of lithium batteries in the country was 1,170 GWh, an increase of 24% year-on-year, and the total output value of the industry exceeded 1.2 trillion yuan.
