The party’s style is related to the party’s image, the support of the people, and determines the success or failure of the party and the country’s cause. It is an important historical experience to promote the whole Party to solve prominent problems in the Party’s style through concentrated education. General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized: "The more reform and opening up, the more we develop the socialist market economy, the longer we are in power, the more prominent the various style issues within the party are. The more we must strengthen style education and style construction." Learning and education are being carried out throughout the party in depth in implementing the spirit of the Central Eight Regulations. This is the first time the Chinese Communists have taken the lead in leading the atmosphere of the times with the spirit of self-revolution, and it is the second time to revitalize the style of work and build a "complete game" with the "key" of the Central Eight Regulations.

The core of work style is the relationship between the Party and the people. Problems in work style are definitely not trivial matters. If we do not resolutely correct bad habits and allow them to develop, we will be like an invisible wall to separate our party from the people, and our party will lose its foundation, bloodline, and strength. When the classic Marxist writers founded proletarian parties, they attached great importance to work style issues. In some letters discussing party building, Engels criticized the "flattering style" and the "flattering style". During the arduous revolutionary era, our party gathered a magnificent and great force with glorious traditions and fine style, and finally "defeated Xi'an style with Yan'an style." At the Second Plenary Session of the Seventh Central Committee of the Party, Comrade Mao Zedong proposed the "two musts", which enriched the new content of style construction of modesty, prudence, no arrogance, no impetuousness and hard work, and made clear the direction and set rules for the style construction of the Party after the country's rule.

The eight central regulations originate from General Secretary Xi Jinping’s long-term practical exploration and theoretical thinking. As early as during his tenure at the local level, Comrade Xi Jinping was good at opening up the work situation by strengthening the Party’s style of work. Shortly after serving as the secretary of the Zhengding County Party Committee, he presided over the formulation of the "Several Regulations of the Zhengding County Party Committee of the Communist Party of China on Improving Leadership Style", and made clear requirements to leading cadres at all levels in the county; during his work in Ningde, he promoted and presided over the issuance of the "Twelve Integrity Articles", mainly including "no eating and drinking when going to the grassroots level", and "not allowed to use public vehicles for private use". After serving as Secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee, he identified 2007 as the "Year of Work Style Construction" in the province, focusing on six aspects: "Prospering the Style of Learning" and "Improving Work Style". These important requirements for rectifying the work style and discipline have achieved practical results, and have also provided practical reference for the formulation and implementation of the Party’s work style construction in the new era, especially the formulation and implementation of the eight central regulations.

After the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, work style construction must solve the problem of "the tiger eats the sky and doesn't know where to start". On December 4, 2012, the meeting of the 18th Central Political Bureau reviewed and passed the eight regulations on improving work style and maintaining close ties with the masses, using this as a breakthrough in the party's style construction. "Regulations are regulations. Without adding the word "trial" to show a firm attitude and that this regulation is rigid." General Secretary Xi Jinping's words are firm. The eight central regulations only have more than 600 words, but they have launched a change in the style of exaggerating the bad and promoting the good. It is neither the highest standard nor the ultimate goal. It is just the first step to improve our work style, which requires long-term efforts and continuous action. The first meeting of the 19th Central Political Bureau reviewed the "Implementation Rules of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee for Implementing the Eight Central Regulations"; the first meeting of the 20th Central Political Bureau reviewed the "Implementation Rules of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee for Implementing the Eight Central Regulations" once again became one of the important agendas. The Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core has solved the problem from the formulation and implementation of the eight central regulations, insisting on top-down and leading by example, and has solved the problem of what to do and how to focus on style construction under the new situation. The eight central regulations have been implemented, and work style construction is full of vitality, the party style and political style have been completely renewed, and the social style and people have continued to improve. Our party has won the trust and support of the people with its new atmosphere of work style construction. A survey by the National Bureau of Statistics in 2024 showed that 94.9% of the respondents expressed their affirmation of the effectiveness of the implementation of the spirit of the Central Eight Regulations. The eight central regulations have profoundly changed China and will continue to change China.

"When sailing against the current, a pole should not be slowed down; when a drop of water wears through a stone, a drop of water should not be abandoned." Style construction is a protracted war, and there will never be a stop. The eight central regulations are not five or ten years of regulations, but are long-term and effective iron rules and hard rules. Carrying out learning and education is an effective form to promote the normalization and long-term effectiveness of work style construction. The people’s most intuitive feeling is whether the learning and education are effective is whether the problems in the party style have been solved and whether the work style of party members and cadres has made significant progress. We need to show greater perseverance and tenacity, adhere to the party spirit, party style and party discipline, integrate the rectification of work style, discipline and anti-corruption, continue to work hard on long-term, strict, practical, profound and meticulous, and continue to polish the "golden business card" of the eight central regulations with the solid results of learning and education.
