China's retail industry prosperity index rebounded significantly in April
The data released by the China Federation of Commerce on April 6 showed that China's retail industry prosperity index rose by 0.3 percentage points month-on-month in April, the retail market operating environment continued to improve, and the vitality of the consumer market steadily increased.
In April, China's retail industry prosperity index was 50.5%, up 0.3 percentage points month-on-month and 0.1 percentage points year-on-year, maintaining its expansion range.
From the perspective of industry classification, the commodity business index was 50.1%, up 0.2 percentage points month-on-month. Analysts believe that the scope of new purchases in spring, the expansion of the scope of consumer goods trade-in subsidies, and innovative attempts to diversify consumption scenarios have driven the continued improvement of offline commodity retail expectations. The leasing and operating index was 52.7%, up 1.3 percentage points month-on-month, maintaining the mid-to-high economic range, rising for two consecutive months, with the increase expanding. It shows that the offline service consumption market is active, the expectation of new stores of leasing and operating companies continues to improve, the pressure on operating costs has decreased, and the willingness to invest has increased.
With the accelerated implementation of policies such as the "Special Action Plan for Promoting Consumption", my country's consumer market is actively releasing the superposition effect of "promoting upgrading, expanding scale, and improving energy levels", the operating environment continues to improve, and consumption vitality steadily increases.
China's consumer market accelerated in the first quarter of this year
The latest high-frequency data released by the National Information Center shows that in the first quarter of this year, driven by the accelerated effects of various consumption promotion policies and the effect of the Spring Festival holiday, China's consumer market accelerated and showed a positive momentum. Offline consumption has recovered, daily service consumption has recovered, consumption scenarios have become increasingly diversified, and consumption potential has been further released.
The rapid recovery of offline consumption has become a highlight of the consumer market in the first quarter. The National Information Center's offline consumption hottest index increased by 14.2% year-on-year in the first quarter of this year, up 9.1 percentage points from the previous quarter; of which March increased by 20.0% year-on-year, 4.7 percentage points higher than the previous two months, and the growth rate continued to rise. First-tier cities, second-tier cities, third-tier and below cities increased by 19.6%, 11.4% and 20.2% year-on-year respectively.
The operating popularity index of small commodities market increased by 16.3% year-on-year in the first quarter, of which 21.6% year-on-year in March, indicating that the sales of small commodities that are close to residents' lives continue to maintain strong vitality, and people's livelihood consumption demand is accelerating.
The life service consumption market ushers in a "warm spring". The National Information Center's life service consumption popularity index increased by 18.3% year-on-year in the first quarter, an increase of 7.4 percentage points from the previous quarter, of which 14.5% year-on-year in March. By industry, the leisure and entertainment industry and the catering industry increased by 67.6% and 14.5% year-on-year respectively, vividly demonstrating the recovery trend of residents' living service consumption.
The global manufacturing purchasing managers index in March was 49.6%
The China Federation of Logistics and Procurement announced on the 6th that the global manufacturing purchasing managers index in March was 49.6%, down 0.4 percentage points from the previous month. The Asian manufacturing purchasing managers' index is 51.3%, among which China's manufacturing industry has risen for two consecutive months and continues to operate in the expansion range of more than 50%.
