CCTV News: Data released by the China Federation of Commerce on April 6 showed that in April, China's retail industry prosperity index was 50.5%, up 0.3 percentage points month-on-month. Among them, the commodity business index rose by 0.2 percentage points month-on-month, and the leasing business index rose by 1.3 percentage points month-on-month.

Analysis shows that in April, driven by activities such as seasonal promotions and consumer goods trade-in, the retail market operating environment continues to improve, and consumption vitality steadily increases.

The rapid recovery of offline consumption has become a highlight of the consumer market in the first quarter. The National Information Center's offline consumption hottest index increased by 14.2% year-on-year in the first quarter of this year, up 9.1 percentage points from the previous quarter. Among them, March increased by 20.0% year-on-year, 4.7 percentage points higher than the previous two months, and the growth rate continued to rise. First-tier cities, second-tier cities, third-tier and below cities increased by 19.6%, 11.4% and 20.2% year-on-year respectively.

The operating popularity index of small commodity market increased by 16.3% year-on-year in the first quarter, of which 21.6% year-on-year in March, indicating that the sales of small commodities that are close to residents' lives continue to maintain strong vitality, and people's livelihood consumption demand is accelerating.

The life service consumer market ushers in a "warm spring". The National Information Center's life service consumption popularity index increased by 18.3% year-on-year in the first quarter, an increase of 7.4 percentage points from the previous quarter, of which 14.5% year-on-year in March. By industry, the leisure and entertainment industry and the catering industry increased by 67.6% and 14.5% year-on-year respectively, vividly demonstrating the recovery trend of residents' living service consumption.

During the Qingming Festival holiday, the enthusiasm for spring travel is high. The National Information Center monitors the popularity of Internet searches, which shows that the search popularity of multiple keywords related to Qingming Festival travel and outings has increased by more than 4 times recently. Diversified consumption scenarios such as flower viewing tours, suburban tours, and cultural experience tours have further released consumption potential and injected new impetus into the continued recovery of the domestic consumer market.
