Today (4th), the reporter learned from the Ministry of Veterans Affairs that new progress has been made in the identification of remains of martyrs of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army in South Korea, and eight volunteer martyrs were able to confirm their identities, from "no name" to "famous", from "returning to China" to "returning home".

The eight volunteer army martyrs who have confirmed their identity are Cao Yunchang, Xu Siyuan, Chen Shubin, Xi Genxiang, Fang Jinyao, Zhang Zhiming, Liao Tianliang and Yin Shuqin, all of whom died in the battle between Tetwon County, Gangwon Province on the eve of the signing of the 1953 Armistice Agreement. Among them, except for the two martyrs Chen Shubin and Xi Genxiang who have clear seal clues, the other 6 martyrs conducted diversified information analysis and finally confirmed their identity based on research results such as military war history analysis, forensic anthropology analysis, and relics analysis.

Liu Liwen, head of the Appraisal and Analysis Department of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, said: "We analyze and organize information on the excavation sites, relics, military and war history, and coordinate relevant local veterans affairs departments to investigate the relatives of martyrs and collect DNA of martyrs. Through the comparison of the DNA of martyrs' remains and DNA of martyrs' relatives, experts have approved it, and finally confirmed the identity of martyrs."

The reporter learned that in recent years, the Ministry of Veterans' Affairs has carried out in-depth reorganization, identification and analysis of relics through the martyrs' remains search center, focusing on the clues of relics marked with personal identity information such as seals, and has successively released clues of martyrs' relatives, mobilized all aspects of society to find martyrs' relatives together.

Liu Liwen introduced that from 2014 to the present, my country has welcomed 11 batches of remains of 981 volunteer soldiers in South Korea for 11 consecutive years. Up to now, 28 volunteer martyrs in South Korea have confirmed their identities and found their relatives.

Today, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs also released clues to 10 Chinese People's Volunteer Army martyrs in South Korea to find relatives. If the public has relevant information, they can leave a message through the mini program of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs "Martyrs' Search for Relatives Public Service Platform" or contact the local veterans affairs department to promote related work. Up to now, the country has found relatives for more than 6,300 martyrs, covering different historical stages such as the War of Resistance Against Japan, the War of Liberation, the War of Resistance Against U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, and the Construction of Socialism.
