National security agencies crack down on Philippine spy case
2025-05-10 source:Xinhuanet

Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, April 3. Recently, our national security organs solved a Philippine espionage case and arrested three Filipino personnel suspected of espionage activities in our territory in accordance with the law.

David Servaez, a Filipino Chinese-born person, went to the surrounding areas of our military facilities many times, and his appearance was suspicious. The national security organs quickly organized an investigation and found that the David Department was carrying out spy and secret espionage activities in our country under the remote command of a Philippines named "Herrera". Further investigation found that "Hereira" also commanded two other Filipino personnel in China, Albert Endencia and Nathalie Plizardo, to collect sensitive information about me. After careful investigation, the state security organs arrested three spy suspects in accordance with the law after obtaining evidence.

The review and investigation have been mastered, and the Philippine spy agencies have been paying attention to and focused on collecting the military deployment situation of our country. Since 2021, Richie Herrera, a spy within the Philippine military intelligence agency, has successively recruited David, Albert and Natalie as operation agents, conducted spy training and sent to China for secret intelligence missions. The case is currently under further investigation and trial.

The National Security Agency reminds: Foreign citizens who work and live in China should not engage in espionage activities under the instructions of overseas institutions, organizations or individuals.
