Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun presided over the regular press conference held today (April 3). Recently, our national security organs have solved a Philippine espionage case and arrested three Filipino personnel suspected of espionage activities in our territory in accordance with the law. In answering relevant questions, Guo Jiakun said that the relevant Chinese departments have announced the specific situation of espionage activities by Filipinos in China. Chinese judicial organs and relevant departments strictly handle cases in accordance with the law, which will also protect the legitimate rights and interests of relevant personnel.
Recently, the Philippines has fabricated many so-called "Chinese espionage cases", and has made presumptions of guilt, stigmatization and politicization in the face of unclear facts. China firmly opposes and makes solemn representations on many occasions. China urges the Philippines to stop catching up on rumors and randomly putting hats, handle cases involving Chinese citizens fairly in accordance with the law, and effectively protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese citizens in the Philippines.
