He Yadong introduced that on March 28, Minister Wang Wentao held talks with visiting European Commission Trade and Economic Security Committee Xiefjovich, and exchanged views frankly, in-depth and pragmatically on China-EU economic and trade relations and economic and trade issues of their respective concerns, and reached a series of consensus.

The two sides believe that the current international situation is complex and changeable, and China and Europe should adhere to the independence and stability of China-EU economic and trade relations, take the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the EU as an opportunity to strengthen dialogue and communication, deepen pragmatic cooperation, jointly maintain the security and stability of the multilateral trading system and the global industrial chain and supply chain, and inject more certainty and positive energy into the world economy.

The two sides had in-depth discussions on trade and investment issues, and agreed to conduct regular communication at the ministerial level to strengthen exchanges on major economic and trade issues between China and Europe. Both sides designated contact persons and instructed the working teams of both sides to regularly review and continue to promote progress based on their respective economic and trade concerns, and prepare for the next stage of high-level exchanges between China and Europe.

At the talks, the two sides discussed issues such as the EU's anti-subsidy case against China and China's anti-dumping case against EU brandy, and reaffirmed that in accordance with the important consensus reached by the Chinese and European leaders, economic and trade differences will be properly resolved through dialogue and consultation. The two sides agreed to restart the price commitment negotiations for the electric vehicle countervailing case as soon as possible to create a good environment for promoting investment and industrial cooperation between China and Europe enterprises. In view of the complexity of the case, at the request of the European side, China decided to extend the investigation period for brandy anti-dumping case in accordance with the law.

In addition, the two sides also discussed specific issues such as EU foreign subsidy investigation, cosmetics supervision cooperation, agricultural and food product access, and government procurement, and reiterated that they would maintain the openness of each other and provide a fair competitive environment for corporate cooperation.
