CCTV News: On March 29, a spokesperson for the National International Development Cooperation Agency said that a strong earthquake disaster occurred in Myanmar, causing major casualties and property losses. At the request of the Myanmar government, the Chinese government decided to provide Myanmar with 100 million yuan of emergency humanitarian earthquake relief assistance, and sent two rescue teams to provide urgently needed materials in disaster areas such as tents, blankets, first aid kits, food, and drinking water. The first batch of aid materials in the Chinese government will be launched on the 31st. China will also continue to provide assistance depending on the need of Myanmar.
Chinese rescue teams rushed to Myanmar to carry out international rescue
After the earthquake, China's Yunnan rescue medical team and Chinese rescue teams rushed to Myanmar to carry out international rescue. In the early morning of the 29th local time, a group of 37 people from Yunnan rescue medical team in China, carrying full-function life detectors, earthquake early warning systems and other emergency rescue equipment, as well as 5 tons of medical supplies, tents, blankets and other materials arrived in Yangon, Myanmar, and immediately rushed to the rescue site to carry out work. This is also the first international rescue team to arrive in Myanmar.
At 5:50 pm on the 29th, 82 members of the Chinese rescue team arrived at Yangon Airport, Myanmar. All the members and more than 20 tons of supplies were advancing towards the severely affected area by land.
