Nima, a villager from Tulin Village, Quxia Town, Lazi County, Shigatse City, was born in 1952. He was a serf when he was born. On March 28, 1959, Tibet launched democratic reforms and completely abolished the feudal serfdom of "integration of politics and religion". Millions of serfs turned over and were liberated. At the age of 7, he became his master.

Nima said: "My mother is from Nanmulin County. When I was pregnant, she was sold to Lazi County as a serf. I have never seen my father before. I was born in pain and darkness. I suffered countless hardships when I was a child."

During the democratic reform, my mother and him divided 23 acres of land, as well as houses, farm tools, etc., and from then on, there was hope for life. Nowadays, all five of Nima's children have started their own families and have no shortage of tractors, loaders, and cars at home.

On January 7, 2025, affected by the magnitude 6.8 earthquake on Dingri, Nima's house became a dilapidated house. Now he lives in a temporary prefabricated house, but he is not worried about his future life. He said: "The Party and the government care about our disaster area. We have neither shortage of food nor burnt throughout the winter. Now the government is planning to build a new house for us, and life will only get better and better."
