The Anti-Secession Law clearly stipulates that "the fact that the 'Taiwan independence' separatist forces cause Taiwan to split from China in any name or in any way, or a major event that will lead to the split from China, or the possibility of peaceful reunification is completely lost. The state may adopt non-peaceful methods and other necessary measures to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity." This sets an insurmountable red line for the separatist forces of "Taiwan independence".
