A reporter asked, some public opinion on the island pointed out that Lai Ching-te defined the mainland as "hostile forces abroad" and put forward the so-called "17 strategies", which is "a resurgence of martial law and a 'Taiwan independence' call", and "green terror governance." What are your comments on this? How will the mainland respond to Lai Ching-te’s remarks?
Spokesman Chen Binhua said that since 1949, we have united our compatriots in Taiwan to promote the situation in the Taiwan Strait from tense confrontation to easing and improving, and then embarked on the path of peaceful development, and cross-strait relations have made continuous breakthroughs. The results are hard to come by and are extremely precious. Lai Qingte made a frank statement, defining the mainland as "hostile forces abroad", equating cross-strait relations with "hostile relations". This is to reverse history, rampantly provoke the mainland, and intensify tensions in the Taiwan Strait, fully confirming that he is a "cross-strait peace destroyer" and "Taiwan Strait crisis maker".
The "17 strategies" put forward by Lai Ching-te violated public opinion completely exposes the ugly face of anti-peace, anti-exchange, anti-democracy and anti-humanity. What he said and done is to incite "anti-China and resist China" and obstruct cross-strait exchanges and cooperation, and to engage in "terrorist politics and green dictatorship" on the island.
Unification is the general trend of history and the right way. "Taiwan independence" is a historical countercurrent and a dead end. We will never tolerate and will never tolerate any acts that damage the rights and interests of Taiwan compatriots, undermine the development of cross-strait relations, and endanger peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait. We must resolutely counter and severely punish. I believe that the majority of Taiwanese compatriots can recognize the serious harm of Lai Ching-te and the DPP authorities in harming Taiwan’s people, and start from safeguarding their own rights and interests and peace in the Taiwan Strait, and fight against Lai Ching-te authorities’ counter-involving actions and prevent their conspiracy from succeeding.
