CCTV News: On March 18, the National Energy Administration released data on electricity consumption in the whole society in February. In February, the total electricity consumption of the whole society was 743.4 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 8.6% year-on-year.

From the perspective of electricity consumption by industry, the electricity consumption of the primary industry is 9.8 billion kWh, an increase of 10.2% year-on-year; the electricity consumption of the secondary industry is 462.4 billion kWh, an increase of 12.4% year-on-year; the electricity consumption of the tertiary industry is 142 billion kWh, an increase of 9.7% year-on-year; the electricity consumption of urban and rural residents is 129.2 billion kWh, a decrease of 4.2% year-on-year.

Overall, from January to February, the total electricity consumption of the whole society was 155.64 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 1.3% year-on-year. China Electric Power Unit said that under the driving force of policies such as "two heavy" and "two new" and other policies, electricity consumption in some industries still maintains rapid growth. From January to February, the national electricity consumption of information transmission/software and information technology service industries increased by 13.5% year-on-year; among them, driven by the rapid development of industries such as AI, big data, cloud computing, and 5G, the national electricity consumption of Internet and related services increased by 25.2% year-on-year.
